Urban Planning:

Spartan wagon is plannet to be an eco-friendly and optimized transport media which connects main points of Toluca, Metepec, Lerma and Mexico city. In order to avoid difficult and expensive infrastructure this system is planned to take advantage of the existing one, using pillars, second floor  ways, buildings and mostly pedestrian bridges.

Spartan wagon travels through an elevated pillar system covered in some parts of solar cells which enegy the system and also wáter cátcher waves which forms part of all the structure and collect wáter from station to station. Main Sprtan stations are bridges where pedestrians, wagon travelers and cars are allowed.

Styling and design:

The Spartan is an elevated wagon designed to transport 10-12 persons and connect  different stations of Toluca, Metepec and Lerma in Mexico state.

Each wagon has enough space for 10 people seated and a apecial place for diabled or strollers. Design allow people to see the lanscape during the travel.

Wagon is sustained by a mechanical doublé weel system on each side which uses a third wheel to press the beam; thissistem is located in front and back of the structure. Materials are Steel and super polimer for wheels.
Programming

We used a Pololu 3pi Robot to simulate how should work  the Espartan Subway. We made  a Line Follower robot because it represents the wagon follow a route with some conditions that allow to avoid obstacles and stop the wagon when arrive to the different stations.

The Pololu 3pi robot is a complete, high-performance mobile platform featuring two micro metal gearmotors, five reflectance sensors, an 8×2 character LCD, a buzzer, and three user pushbuttons, all connected to a C-programmable ATmega328 microcontroller. Capable of speeds exceeding 3 feet per second, 3pi is a great first robot for ambitious beginners and a perfect second robot for those looking to move up from non-programmable or slower beginner robots.
